Born into a family of traditional artists on April 27, 1955, in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh.
Learned Gold Leaf and other classical painting techniques under the guidance of his father, Pannuru Guru Swamy, and his elder brother, Padmashri Punnuru Sripathi.
Holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from Chennai and a Master’s degree in Arts (M.A.).
Early career included roles as Chief Artist in leading magazines such as Bommarillu, Vijaya, Neelima, and Chandamama.
